Toshiba P100.
Laptop power light is on. One day it just wouldn;t boot up.
I removed the plate covering the on/off button. Removed the screws holding
circuit board and played with the ribbon. Put back together and nothing.
Kept pushing on/off button. It started to boot, then shut down. Tried
several more times and it finally booted up. I did the on and then off many
times and it booted okay. This morning I am back to square one.
Any ideas what is wrong?

Have a look at the cpu fan, it might be stuck or take it out, there
could be dust clogging up between the fan and the heatpipes. Also
reseat your ram

Not an overheating problem, its clean as a whistle around CPU abd fan.. Hard
drive replaced, I've reseated everything, gone right down to taking out
motherboard . Still the same.LED light comes on, on/off led light briefly
flashes, nothing boots. Can only assume now it's the motherboard.

Reset CMOS? I've seen that fix intermittant power on issues before.

Try removing your battery and just run off of AC power.... it may be a bad
battery causing the issue.

Just a guess... but something very similar happened to me on an older Toshiba.
